Note on the battery
The manual names only the EN‑EL15. However, Nikon includes the D810 in its list of products compatible with the EN‑EL15c; according to that list, it cannot be charged in the camera, only in the charger.

Measurement conditions according to Nikon: CIPA standard, 23 °C (±3 °C), fully charged EN-EL15, AF-S NIKKOR 24–120 mm 1:4G ED VR lens, without Live View (optical viewfinder): every 30 seconds the focus is cycled once from infinity to the minimum focus distance and back, then one photo is taken at default settings, the built-in flash fires on every second shot; video: HD video under CIPA conditions at default settings (video is recorded only with Live View on the monitor).
