Frequently asked questions

FAQ on the EN-EL15c

Does the EN-EL15c also fit my old D7100?
In our compatibility list, the D7100 is listed under the Baxxtar EN-EL15c, and all EN-EL15 variants have the same form factor. However, Nikon itself does not list the EN-EL15c for the D600, D800/D800E, D7000 and D7100 (there Nikon names the EN-EL15, EN-EL15a and EN-EL15b), nor for the Nikon 1 V1 – see ‘Good to know’.
Why does my Z8 specifically say EN-EL15c?
Nikon names the EN-EL15c for the Z8. The Baxxtar batteries in this series are designed as the EN-EL15c and can be charged in compatible cameras with the EH-7P charging adapter. What Nikon says about the older generations is explained further up under ‘Good to know’.
What does the NTC sensor in MaxProtect do?
It monitors the cell temperature during charging and discharging. For the EN-EL15c, the MaxProtect batteries have it.
Can I charge all EN-EL15 variants with the Baxxtar charger?
Yes. The dual charger for two batteries charges the EN-EL15, 15a, 15b and 15c.
