Battery: EN‑EL25 (7.6 V)
Note on the battery: Nikon also names the EN‑EL25a for the camera (from camera firmware C: 2.50 onwards) – according to Nikon, this gives approx. 350 shots using the monitor or 310 using the viewfinder and approx. 90 minutes of video per charge.
Shots per battery charge: approx. 320 using the monitor · approx. 280 using the viewfinder (CIPA)

Charging in the camera: Yes – with the camera switched off via the USB port (Micro‑B), but only with the optional charging AC adapter EH‑73P and the USB cable UC‑E21; according to Nikon, other charging adapters, USB power adapters or smartphone chargers should not be used
Power via USB: No – according to Nikon, the switched-on camera does not draw power from the charging AC adapter EH‑73P, and the battery is not charged then
Memory cards: One slot: SD (UHS‑I)
Weight: approx. 450 g with battery and memory card, without body cap

Measurement conditions according to Nikon: CIPA standard, 23 °C (±2 °C), fully charged EN-EL25; photos: one photo every 30 seconds at default settings; video: under CIPA conditions at default settings.

Charging and power via USB: information from Nikon on the camera – we have not tested whether it also charges replacement batteries in the camera.
