Note on the battery

Canon also names the LP‑E6P, LP‑E6N and LP‑E6 as compatible. With the LP‑E6, the maximum continuous shooting speed is limited, and it cannot be charged in the camera.

Charging in the camera

Yes – via the USB‑C port with the USB power adapter PD‑E1 (available separately) with the camera switched off; the LP‑E6P, LP‑E6NH and LP‑E6N are charged – not the LP‑E6 and, according to Canon, no non-authenticated batteries either

Power via USB

Yes – with the USB power adapter PD‑E1, power switch set to ON or movie; a battery must be inserted – if it is empty, it is charged first and the camera is not powered; the battery charge may drop in the process

Measurement conditions according to Canon: CIPA guidelines, +23 °C, display set to power saving, new fully charged LP-E6NH and SD card as per the Canon test specification; with the display setting ‘Smooth’, Canon states approx. 660 (monitor) or 380 (viewfinder) shots.

Charging and power via USB: information from Canon on the camera – we have not tested whether it also charges replacement batteries in the camera.
